Two Factor Authentication (also referred to as 2FA) adds an extra layer of security to protect your account and data. When enabled, you will be prompted to enter a one-time use password along with your regular credentials (username/password).

When 2FA is enabled, if the login details of your account become compromised then, access to the account will still be restricted.

We recommend enabling 2FA for all users that have access to your account. In this article, we will discuss the ways that you can:

Activating

1. Log into your MyGuestlist Account

2. Click on 'Edit Details'

3. Click on the Security tab

4. Click on 'Setup 2FA'

5. If you would like to enable two factor authentication for all users of the account click on 'Turn On' otherwise to only enable two factor authentication for yourself, select 'Activate 2FA'.

6. Click on 'Activate 2FA'

7. You'll need to download a TOTP compliant authentication application (for example, Google Authenticator on your smart phone)

8. Open the app on your phone - if you're using Google Authenticator click on the + in the bottom right of your app to open the scanner and select 'Scan Barcode'

9. Scan the QR code on the screen using your smart phone

10. On your Google Authenticator app it will display a 6 digit number code on the screen, enter that code into the 'One time password' box on the MyGuestlist website and click 'Activate'.

11. You can click on 'Cancel' under the Activate button if you want to cancel the process.

For the activation of two factor authentication to be successful, your computer and phone times must be the same.

Two factor authentication will only be successful if the smart phone and desktop devices are in the same timezone.
